Japanese Meiji period cast iron tetsubin decorated on opposing sides with what appears to be a circular/oval form relief stylized dragon motif. The bronze lid holds an openwork bronze bud form finial signed on the underside with the Ryubundo shop name. The back hinge support for the upright handle is impressed with calligraphy. 19th century. About 8 3/4” high to top of handle x 7” across. Very good, solid overall condition despite extensive rust to the interior and exterior. There is wear to the underside of the lid. From a Scottsdale, Arizona estate.
