Japanese late Meiji to early Showa period cast iron tetsubin decorated with a hailstone pattern in bas-relief around the upper half of the body. Iron lid with a bud form finial. A subtle cast pattern is on two sides of the upright handle. A three-character mark in a fan form is beside the spout. Early 20th century to possibly late 19th. About 7 7/8” high to top of handle x 7 1/2” across. Very good overall condition with minor rust in the interior and underside of lid from use. There is a tiny flaw at the end of the spout. From a Scottsdale, Arizona estate.
