Japanese sosaku hanga woodblock print depicting a solitary seated cat typically titled "Cat" (aka "Steady Gaze") by Kiyoshi Saito (1907-1997) dating circa 1950s. Unlimited edition. Paper: 16" x 10 7/8" (image: 14 1/8" x 8 7/8). Very good overall condition with full margins and clean back. The print is lightly faded and the paper is a little wavy. Minor soiling is evident on the margins and the margins are slightly thinned on back. In the 1950s, Saito produced a series of similar prints depicting cats that are illustrated in the 2003 catalogue produced by the Kiyoshi Saito Museum of Art, Yanaizu.
