Japanese Edo period woodblock print diptych by Osaka artist Utagawa Yoshitaki (1841-1899) dating 1862. The print features the actors Arashi Kichisaburo III as Sato Imasuke and Onoe Tamizo II as Fudesuke in a scene from the kabuki play Hanafubuki Hakone no Akebono. Each chuban-sized sheet measures 9 9/16" x 6 13/16". Very good color and overall condition with gauffrage and lacquer highlights. The panels are not album backed, but there is adhesive residue along the back edges where they were once mounted in an album. There are some tiny soil spots on the actor's face in the right panel.
