Japanese shin hanga mitsugiri format woodblock print titled "Eagle" depicting an eagle standing on a rocky ledge over crashing waves by Tsuchiya Koitsu (1870-1949) dating circa 1930s. The artist's signature and red seal are at the lower right. The offset markings of the publisher Doi Hangaten, printer Yokoi, and carver Harada are in the lower left margin dating this impression sometime between 1950 and 1963. The Doi publisher’s watermark is at the upper left margin corner. Paper: 15 3/8" x 7 1/2" (image: 13 5/8" x 7 1/16"). Very good overall condition. There are some faint brown stains above the waves at the lower left. Two small paper hinges are at the upper back edge.
