A pair of Japanese late Meiji to Taisho period cloisonne enamel long necked vases with slightly flaring mouth decorated on the bulbous bottom below a band of flowers, scrolling vines, and butterflies with six alternating green and gold shield-form panels of dragons and phoenix birds all set against a sparkling brown ground. Extensive goldstone throughout. Black counter-enamel base and interior. Late 19th to early 20th century. 9 1/2" high. Very good overall condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, or losses. From a Sun City, Arizona collection.
