Chinese Qing dynasty hexagonal form Yixing zisha pottery tea caddy or canister. The flat panels are decorated with moulded leafy flowers set against a diaper ground. The curved shoulder holds a band of impressed ruyi forms. The bottom corners extend onto short, flat bracket feet along the edge of the base. A wood lid covers the cylindrical mouth. 6 3/4” high x about 5” diameter. Late 19th to early 20th century. Very good overall condition. There is a small loss to the edge of one foot and a tiny nick to the corner of one shoulder. From the estate of a former American expatriate to Hong Kong in the 1970s and 1980s.
