Japanese Meiji period woodblock print triptych by Kochoro Hosai (1848-1920), also known as Kunimasa IV, Kunisada III, and Toyokuni V, illustrating a scene from kabuki theater. The artist's signature and red seal is at the lower left section of the left panel. The date of Meiji 27 (1894) is below it in the publishers cartouche. The image size of the full triptych measures about 14 1/4" x 28." Including margins, the paper size of the individual panels is 14 1/2" x 9 3/8" - 9 5/8." Excellent overall condition. The fresh color is as brilliant as when it was first printed. The print is not backed. There are a few tiny areas of pigment transference
