First edition Japanese shin hanga woodblock print by Shiro Kasamatsu (1898-1991) titled "Kamakura Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine" dated in the left margin "Showa 28" (1953). The seal of the publisher Unsodo, and the seals of the carver Nagashima, and printer Shinmi are in the left margin. The artist's black ink signature and red seal are at the lower left corner of the image. The Unsodo (“Un”) watermark is faintly visible at the lower left margin corner. The paper measures 15 7/8” x 10 3/4” (image: just over 14 3/16" x 9 3/8"). Good overall condition. The print is slightly faded and a thin mat line is visible primarily at the upper right (see close up). A tape stain is at the upper margin edge and there is a small pucker to the right of the tape stain.
