Characteristic of Wang Bingrong’s dragons, the box is entirely glazed in a monochrome mustard brown color except for the dragon’s black and white eyes. Wang Bingrong (active circa 1862-1908) applied the technique of bamboo and ivory carving to porcelain. Works by his school continued to be produced into the 20th century. 3 3/16” diameter x 2 1/4” high. Very good overall condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. From the collection of a former American expatriate to Hong Kong in the 1970s and 1980s.
