Chinese late Qing dynasty bombe form porcelain censer on three high tripod legs covered overall in a thick sang de boeuf (oxblood) flambe glaze with purple accents that coats the interior and drips down to an unglazed section at the bottom that has burnt orange. The top and bottom show typical signs where it was broken off the kiln supports. Measures 6 1/2" diameter (at the flat top) x 4 3/4" high. 19th century. Very good overall condition. Sits at a slight slant. From the estate of Gerhard Lohmeier, a Diplomat at the German Embassy in Beijing from 1985 to 1989.
