Antique steel-line engraving drawn by Thomas Allom (1804-1872) and engraved by Arthur Willmore (1814-1888) titled “Chinese Boatman Economizing Time & Labour, Poo-kou” from “China in a Series of Views” published in London in 1843 and reprinted through 1859. The image was derived from a sketch executed on the spot by Captain Stoddart, R. N. Purchased from Teresa Coleman Fine Arts in Hong Kong, with the certificate of authentication included. Framed with UV glass. Image size (excluding text and margin): 4 11/16” x 7 1/2” (frame size: 13 1/2” x 16 1/4”). The print appears to be in very good overall condition with some slight discoloration toward the edges near the mat.
