3 Chinese Qing Guangxu Mark & Period Ogee Form Famille Rose Bowls
item#: 1433614
price: SOLD
Three small Chinese Guangxu mark and period ogee form bowls with lobed rims, each exquisitely decorated on the exterior in famille rose enamels with a quail standing on rockery below bamboo wrapped with leafy vines sprouting flowers and double gourds that extend over the wall to the interior well. A single bird flies above. The base of each bowl holds a six-character kaishu form iron-red Guangxu mark and of the period (1875-1908). 4” diameter x 1 3/4" high. Very good overall condition with minor production imperfections. One bowl has a nearly invisible production flaw or repair to the side that is not visible under black light. Another bowl has a small loss to the foot that appears to be from the original production. For an identical pair, see lot 382 of Bonham’s May 13, 2010 UK auction.
