Chinese Ming dynasty guan form porcelain jar decorated around the circumference in underglaze blue with a pattern of stylized pomegranates among scrolling foliage set against a white background with a faint celadon-gray hue. The glaze covers the interior and base. The unglazed foot rim has burnt orange. A luting line is visible at the mid-section and can be seen and felt in the interior. Measures 4 1/2” high by about 4 1/2” diameter. Circa 16th /17th century. There are tiny burnt orange glaze frits along the mouth rim from the original production. There is a faint old browned hairline extending from the mouth down to the upper shoulder which also appears to be from the original production. From the private collection of a former American resident in Guangzhou and Beijing from 1983-1987.
