Chinese ink on paper painting of fish and shrimp by Qi Liangmo (b. 1938). Titled and signed at the upper left Qi Liangmo, the 7th son of Qi Baishi, in black ink and with two red seals reading “Qi Liangmo” and “Baishi’s 7th son.” 20th century. 27” x 13 1/2.” Unframed. Very good, clean condition with some minor discoloration of the background evident. There is a vertical center fold and some wrinkling of the fine paper. From a Phoenix, Arizona collection. Qi Baishi was 75-years-old when Qi Liangmo was born. His mother is Qi Baozhu. He began studying painting under his father at the age of 8. His paintings of fish, shrimp, and insects are in Qi Baishi’s style.
