Oversized limited edition Japanese sosaku hanga woodblock print by Yoshio Kanamori (b. 1922) pencil-titled "Flying Feather over Mountain Lake No. 3 (B)" and numbered 3/30. Signed in pencil at the lower right with the artist's red seal. The artist's printed name appears in the margin below. This image is from a series of similar prints known to date circa 1963. The print is executed on fine paper and the impression is nearly as vibrant on the back. Paper: 25 3/4" x 18 7/8" (image: 23 3/4" x 17 3/4"). Very good overall condition. There are a few tiny foxing spots visible in the margins and there is one narrow piece of white linen tape to the top back edge. Kanamori's prints can be found in the collection of the British Museum, Art Institute of Chicago, and MFA Boston. Kanamori studied under Munakata and exhibited with him. He is featured on page 26 (plate 67) in Lawrence Smith's "Modern Japanese Prints: 1912-1989."
