Japanese Meiji period “aka-e” (red) Kutani porcelain vase finely decorated in overglaze rust-red and polychrome enamels with gilt highlights featuring overlapping fan-shaped panels of figural scenes, landscapes, and floral motifs set against a dense background permeated with fans. The base holds a rust-red Kaga region Inoue made mark. 8” high. Late 19th century. Very good overall condition. This vase is from an old Scottsdale, Arizona collection.
