price: $750.00 Set of Three
Three Chinese late Qing dynasty to early Republic period ancestor portrait paintings, two featuring Mandarin civil officials dressed in full court attire and one noble woman wearing an elaborate headdress and silk outer robe with skirt beneath. All are seated on draped armchairs. Two are painted on paper and one on silk. Probably date from the early 20th century. Painting: 9 5/8" 6 3/4"; frame: 18 1/2" x 14 1/8." Excellent quality archival framing with natural wood moulding, archival double-mat, and UV glass or Plexiglas. Very good overall condition. The paintings of the woman and one of the men are tilted within the mat. There are a few faintly visible soft creases in the paper. From a Phoenix, Arizona collection.
