Japanese Meiji period Nabeshima shallow bowl-form dish decorated at the lower left in underglaze blue (sometsuke) with blue outlines on a white ground with a single spray of flowering grasses on rockery. Tripartite clusters of four tassled coins are evenly spaced around the back. The traditional comb-tooth band on the foot is uniformly executed. 19th century. 4 7/16” diameter x 1 3/8” high. Very good overall condition. There is a tiny old restoration at the rim. It is barely visible to the eye and can be seen under black light. From an old Phoenix, Arizona collection.
