Chinese Qing Copper & Bronze Hand Warmer Shou Lu Pierced Cover
item#: 1365183
price: $350.00
Chinese Qing dynasty rectangular form copper hand warmer (shou lu) with rounded corners and bronze carrying handle. The pierced cover is decorated with flowers at the center. 4 3/8” high x nearly 7” long (to the edge of the handle supports). 19th century or earlier. There is a similar hand warmer in the collection of the British Museum attributed to the early Qing. Very nice patina. The piece shows wear consistent with its age and use. There are two tiny pinhead-sized holes (one in the bottom and one on the side). There are some bends in the copper at the mouth and there are a few slight indents in the body. From an old Tucson, Arizona estate.
