Chinese Qing Lady's Two-panel Summer Gauze Burgundy Silk Skirt
item#: 1353354
price: SOLD
Chinese late Qing dynasty lady’s two-panel summer gauze silk skirt, each panel with a central section heavily embroidered in gold-couched thread with stylized phoenix birds above waves bordered by ribbon and flowers stitched onto black silk. The unlined burgundy to rust-colored patterned gauze skirt has pleated side panels terminating at the bottom with ribbon above a black border. Circa 1890-1911. Each panel measures about 37” long x 34” across at the bottom (26” across the waist band). Very good overall condition. There are a few small holes in the waist band and some wear/fraying to the silk lining at the bottom of both panels.
