Chinese Republic Blue White Porcelain Vases Xiwangmu Qianlong Mark
item#: 1341169
price: SOLD
Mirror pair of Chinese Republic period to possibly late Qing dynasty porcelain vases decorated in shades of underglaze blue with Xiwangmu (Queen Mother of the West) riding in a carriage through the clouds with a rabbit on her lap and attendants at her side. The scene is set against a white slightly orange peel textured background. A six-character zhuanshu square form apocryphal Qianlong seal mark is on the base. Early 20th century. Each vase stands about 6 1/2” high. Very good overall condition. One vase has a fine quality restoration to an old brown hairline at the side. It is barely visible to the eye if you know precisely where to look, but it is not visible under a black light. From an old Scottsdale, Arizona collection.
