Chinese Qing dynasty Kangxi marked monochrome beehive form waterpot (taibo zun) subtly incised with three kui dragon roundels on the domed body. The sky blue glaze thins to white at the rim. The slightly recessed flat base and interior are white. The base holds an apocryphal underglaze blue six-character Kangxi reign mark written in three columns. 5 ¼” diameter by 3 ¼” high. Guangxu period (late 19th century). From a Scottsdale, Arizona collection. The current owners purchased the waterpot from the Unicorn Oriental Gallery in Scottsdale sometime between 1977-1980. The gallery closed around 1990.
