Chinese Qing Guangxu Famille Verte Export Porcelain "Fu" Wine Pot Ewer
item#: 1324019
price: $275.00
Chinese Qing Guangxu period export porcelain Kangxi style lidded teapot or wine ewer molded in the form of the character “fu” (good fortune or prosperity) and executed in famille verte enamels on the biscuit. The body is decorated in iridescent sancai colors with yellow and aubergine flowers on a green background. A central figural panel features the God of Longevity (Shoulao or Shouxing) seated between two peaches of immortality. The panel on the opposite side is decorated with a beauty. The yellow and brown handle and spout are painted to resemble rattan weaving. 7 3/4” high by about 8” across (handle to spout). Circa 1900 to early 20th century. Very good overall condition. There is a tiny flea bite to the inside of the lid (see enlargement 10) and there are a few typical production imperfections. This piece is from an old Scottsdale, Arizona collection.
