Japanese Late Meiji Kutani Porcelain Hotei Lucky God Figure Okimono
item#: 1307024
price: SOLD
Japanese late Meiji period Kutani porcelain figure of Hotei, one of the Seven Gods of Good Luck, dressed in a blue ground polychrome enamel robe decorated with dragon roundels. Hotei stands with bare feet and naked protruding abdomen with a fan held behind his head in his right hand. His face, hairy chest and belly, hands, and feet are unglazed and finely painted. The carefully hidden vent hole in his mouth and fabric impressed base are indicative of 19th century figures. The base holds an unread mark. Stands about 7” high. Very good overall condition.
