Chinese Yuan dynasty globular form Longquan celadon water coupe covered overall in a celadon glaze with brown crackles. A brown wash is at the mouth rim. The jar has a prominent luting line at the mid-section and a ribbed lower section. The flat, slightly concave base is unglazed. 4 ¾” diameter by 3 1/8” high. Circa 13th century. Very good overall condition. This vessel is from the estate of Wesley C. Haraldson, previously of Sun City, Arizona. Haraldson was Director of United States Operations Mission (USOM) in the Philippines circa 1965. Prior to that, he was the head of the US AID mission to Taiwan in 1959.
