Chinese Qing Porcelain Sang de Boeuf Oxblood Censer

Chinese late Qing dynasty bombe form porcelain censer with two lion dog mask handles on the sides. The censer is covered on the exterior in a sang de boeuf (oxblood) glaze applied over a light gray crackled glaze which is visible where the glaze thins under the rim and on the lion dog mask handles. The interior and base are thickly coated in a gray glaze. The characteristically rough foot rim is unglazed. Measures 5" diameter x 2 1/2" high (3 2/4" high including the wood stand). 19th century. Very good overall condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The wood stand is included. This censer is from the collection of expatriates to Hong Kong in the 1970s and 1980s.
