Massive Chinese late Qing to Republic period hardwood scroll pot of cylindrical, slightly ribbed form which appears to be covered with a lacquered finish. 10 1/4” diameter x 11 1/4” high. The rim is about 1” wide. Weighs approximately 13 lbs. Late 19th to early 20th century. Very good overall condition with three fine separations in the wood extending the full vertical height. The base is unplugged. This piece is from the private collection of former American expatriates to Hong Kong in the 1970s and 1980s.
