Chinese Qing Qianlong Zhangzhou Monochrome Cream Vase
item#: 1179880
price: SOLD
Chinese Qing dynasty Qianlong period meiping form Zhangzhou white ware porcelain vase decorated around the bulbous shoulder with the eight treasures (ba bao) moulded in relief against a finely crackled cream colored ground. The squat lower portion flares at the base. A wide unglazed flat “bi” form foot encircles a small slightly recessed glazed central disk. The glaze extends slightly down from the neck into the unglazed interior. 9 5/8” high. 18th century. Very good overall condition. Please note that the color is less white and more creamy than the images suggest. This vase is from the private collection of a former American diplomat to Guangzhou and Beijing from 1983-1987.
