Tall Chinese Republic Monochrome Cream Porcelain Vase Dragons
item#: 1071536
price: SOLD
15 ½” tall Chinese Republic period cream colored monochrome vase decorated around the circumference of the globular body with two four-clawed dragons carved into the body. The long, narrow neck gradually flares at the mouth, which is accented with rows of incised abstract triangular-form petals. The bottom is similarly bordered. The base and interior are glazed, while the low foot rim is unglazed. The glaze is finely crackled and has tiny imperfections throughout. Dates circa 1920s or possibly earlier. Very good overall condition. This piece is from the estate of a 97-year-old Sun City, Arizona woman. Her deceased husband was head of the U.S. AID mission to Taiwan in 1959 and to the Philippines in 1965.
